Pancreatic Diseases
Imaging of pancreatic cysts and chronic pancreatitis.

For pancreas and biliary system complaints, advanced diagnostic strategy is used for early and accurate decisions.
The pancreas is a critical organ tucked deep behind the stomach, producing both digestive enzymes and vital hormones that regulate blood sugar. Due to its anatomical location, detailed visualization is extremely difficult in standard ultrasonographic or general radiological examinations. This situation often causes pancreatic diseases to appear in advanced stages and with delayed symptoms.
Acute or chronic pancreatitis, pancreatic cysts, and pancreatic cancer are the principal and most serious diseases of this organ. An advanced pancreas-focused expert assessment is critically important, especially in cases of unexplained severe back and upper abdominal pain, newly emerging diabetes, or unexplained weight loss. Early diagnosis has the potential to fundamentally change the entire course of treatment.
The most reliable gold standard in the detailed examination of the pancreas is the Endoscopic Ultrasonography (EUS) procedure. With our advanced EUS training received in Japan and years of experience, we can visualize even small masses of a few millimeters that tomography or MRI cannot detect. Furthermore, we can make a definitive histopathological diagnosis by taking a fine needle aspiration biopsy (EUS-FNA) from the detected suspicious areas safely and in the same session.
'Pancreatic cysts', which we frequently encounter in recent years and are incidentally detected in radiological scans, require a separate expertise approach. Determining which cyst is harmless and which has the potential to turn into cancer in the future depends on an observational ability with high clinical vision. By analyzing the fluid inside the cysts and interpreting the EUS findings, we protect our patients from unnecessary surgeries or direct necessary surgery at the right time.
The management of pancreatic diseases is the area where the competence of gastroenterology is felt most intensely. The accuracy of the diagnosis directly affects the success of the treatment protocol to be applied. By evaluating cases not only in the light of medical data but with a multidisciplinary approach integrated with oncology and surgery councils, we draw the safest, scientifically proven treatment roadmap that preserves quality of life for each patient.
