Liver Diseases

In elevated liver enzymes, fatty liver, or hepatitis suspicion, risk staging is the first priority.

Today, due to insufficient physical activity and poor dietary habits, Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD/MASLD) has become the most common liver disease worldwide. What may appear to be simple fatty liver can, if left unaddressed, progress to liver inflammation (NASH/MASH), permanent tissue damage (fibrosis), and ultimately cirrhosis. Our aim is to detect the disease while it is still in reversible stages.

In our diagnostic process, we do not rely only on blood tests. We routinely use FibroScan (Transient Elastography) in our clinic, a technology that can measure liver stiffness within seconds. Without the need for biopsy, needles, or pain, we can quantify both the amount of fat in the liver and the degree of fibrosis (damage/stiffening). This is an invaluable tool that helps protect patients from unnecessary invasive procedures.

For more specific problems such as viral hepatitis (Hepatitis B and C), autoimmune liver diseases, elevated enzymes, and liver masses, we follow current international guidelines. Regular follow-up is especially critical for Hepatitis B carriers and patients with early-stage cirrhosis, because it helps ensure that a possible liver cancer can be detected at a very early stage.

The most remarkable feature of the liver is its ability to regenerate. With a timely diagnosis, cause-directed treatment, and a committed lifestyle change, liver tissue can regain its former health. During treatment, we do more than prescribe medication; we guide this recovery process with comprehensive counseling on nutrition, exercise planning, and preventive measures.
